Letters!

At gymnastics on Monday one of Dexter's friends gave him a letter.

Which of course sparked a whole lotta letter-making. I wouldn't call it writing as such, besides the Dear ___, there's no written content what-so-ever, only little origami gifts in the form of paper aeroplanes, between the wings of which he carefully placed the Dear ___ notes. He even constructed the envelopes himself. Naw, too cute!

We checked with the lovely people inside our local post office if the envelopes were acceptable, being rather wide and covered in lumps of masking tape and all. Surprisingly, they were fine, 60 cents postage instead of the usual 50 cents for a 'standard' envelope.

Dex proudly posted them this afternoon.

  1. Harriet received a letter from her Grandpa the other day and sat down to reply. I literally walked out of the room and about two minutes later she returned with a beautifully written A4 page of letter to send off to him. You could have knocked me down with a feather! If Dex wants another pen pal Harriet would definitely be interested. She does love to blather on in the written form (no idea where she gets that particular trait from).

Love Dex's undies in that last shot! :D And his crafting skills know no bounds - envelopes! Planes! Cool!

Such cute letter-writing. The recipients will be over the moon with excitement.

  3. Ha! Well, there you go - I totally missed the standard envelope price rise. Thanks Diane!

Cass, I'll def mention Harriet as a potential pen pal to Dex. He has tried his cousin several times but she never replies - so disappointing for the poor kid :(
